Weekend Update July 11 & 13 After studying Creative Writing at the University of Puget Sound, Don Everts spent 14 years as a campus missionary for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, first in Washington State and then in Colorado. Don is an award-winning author who has written such books as Jesus with Dirty Feet, The Smell of Sin, God in the Flesh and, most recently, I Once Was Lost. Don has recently joined the staff as a Minister of Outreach at Bonhomme Presbyterian Church, a nearly 200 year-old church in the western suburbs of St. Louis, MO. Don enjoys Frisbee Golf and eating cheap pizza. Don’s newest book, I Once Was Lost , examines how skeptics in our postmodern world find Jesus. Along with co-author Doug Schaupp, Don listened to stories of two thousand postmodern people who have come to follow Jesus. While their stories are diverse and varied, certain common themes emerge. Don and Doug describe the factors that influence how people shift in their perspectives and become open to the gospel. Throughout the book, they provide practical tools to help people enter the kingdom, as well as guidelines for how new believers can live out their Christian faith.
