I am at the midway point of my spring reading and the list I came up with has gone through considerable change since the post What I Will Read Toward Summer. Whenever I make my list, I do so with the understanding that it will go through changes as I am definitely influenced by those around me. I believe this has been a helpful leadership learning for me, which is to read what the others leaders I am serving with are reading. It helps me to get a window into what is shaping their thinking and where some of their passions are being birth and being stirred.
Here is what my new list looks like. The titles in blue are the new editions and in parenthesis is why it was added. My complete spring 2008 reading list may be found in the left column. You can click on them for more detailed information.
Pop Goes the Church by Tim Stevens (It will
serve as a great resource to further appreciate understand our current
weekend series God at the Movies)
The Shack by William P. Young (I cannot ignore the many friends that have prodded me to read it)
The
Laws of Simplicity by John Maeda (One of my good friends and work
colleague gave it to me as a gift and said that it was the best book he
read last year.)
Looking for God by Nancy Ortberg (I read everything her husband John writes, it only made sense to read her first book)
The
Dangerous Act of Worship by Mark Labberton (Our worship pastor is
reading it and his selections usually lead to some good thinking and
engaging conversation.)
What Got You Here, Won't Get You There by Marshall Goldsmith
Who Stole My Church by Gordon MacDonald
Three Signs of a Miserable Job by Patrick Lencioni
The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey
Focus by Al Ries
